Lines Brothers Rocking Horse - Sportiboy
SP1
This lovely little Lines Brothers Sportiboy
was wonderfully restored to give an authentic
period feel. The horse is around 80 years old and
would have been made in London in the 1920s. It is
guaranteed to be an original Lines Sportiboy. The
front clamp holding the swinger bar is stamped with "LBLSP1".
In a recent professional restoration,
the paintwork and varnish has been applied in a way
which simulates the manner in which original varnish
becomes patchy over the years with wear and tear.
In addition, the saddle has been given an aged appearance.
This Lines rocking horse has now been
sold.

About Lines Brothers
Lines Brothers was the most popular of 1920s rocking
horse makers. The company had grown out of the original
Victorian rocking horse makers, G&J Lines and J&G
Lines, and was later to become the well-known toy maker,
Triang.
