the bow rocker

The earliest rocking horses were mounted on a bow rocker before the introduction of the fixed stand, which is variously known as the safety-, swinger- or pillar-stand.

Visitors to the rocking horse showroom are invariably drawn to the grace and elegance of horses like this one.

For a given size of horse, stability demands mean that the bow rocker must be rather longer than the corresponding swinger stand. If space allows though, a horse on a bow rocker makes a marvelous feature in the home.

The bow rocker is one of our specialities.
